Anesthesiology Nursing Leadership Practicum

The purpose of the Anesthesiology Nursing Leadership Practicum is to provide BSN nursing students with the opportunity to review, research, and experience the specialty of Anesthesiology Nursing in an up-close and in-depth manner. Learning opportunities and professional experiences are structured to provide insight into the history of the specialty, the legal basis for practice, the educational requirements for practice, certification, professional associations and political history of the profession, and the clinical practice environment.

Each of the subheading areas below is structured to give the senior nursing student the opportunity to explore online resources or practicum activities in each of the many dimensions that makes up the professional practice of anesthesiology nursing. Each of the web links below will take you to a brief overview of information, about one page in length, and will give you background information that you should then use as discussion points when you are in the classroom or clinical area with nurse anesthetist residents or CRNAs.
