TIME OFF FROM
CLINICAL TRAINING Requests
ALL residents must account for their clinical training time using the ANP Online
Time Management system, irrespective of their assigned clinical site. For
purposes of clinical site scheduling, time off from clinical training will be
coordinated between the resident and the respective clinical site coordinator.
However, for purposes of accounting of clinical training time, all time off
(Sick call, Personal time off and Professional time off) must be accounted for
using the ANP Online Time Management system. Failure to account for time off may
result in denial of requested time off, making up time off taken without proper
accounting, and/or assignment of a reduced grade, incomplete grade or failing
grade for the respective Anesthesiology Nursing Practicum course.
SICK TIME
SICK CALL should be made to the respective clinical facility as early as
possible prior to the scheduled reporting time. You are responsible for clinical
site notification for sick call at all of the facilities to which you are
assigned.
SICK CALL Notification:
1. Call the facility and note the time and name of the person you notified.
2. Send an email notification to your respective clinical coordinator with the
date, time and name of the person you spoke with, and your anticipated return date.
Email notification: For MSMC based students: Mr. J. Gonzalez for MRHS based students: Ms C.
Houck
3. Complete a SICK CALL entry in the ANP Time Management System within 24-hours
of the SICK CALL date.
Sick time is to be used for illness, injury, or other medical episode that
precludes attendance.
SICK Time must be reported on the ANP Time Management System within 24 hours of
Sick Call. SICK Time not reported is considered Absent Without Leave.
PERSONAL TIME OFF (PTO) and PROFESSIONAL TIME
Personal Time Off (PTO) is time taken off for vacation, personal appointments,
or other nonprogram functions. Professional Time is time taken off for
attendance at professional conferences (FANA or AANA) or other program approved
functions or mandated
training. Professional time off must be requested in advance and granted by the
Program Director. The Program retains the right to deny Personal or Professional
time off requests for specific dates, or in instances where multiple requests
are received from residents at the same clinical facility at the same time.
REQUESTING TIME OFF
Time off requests for Personal
or Professional time may not be submitted more than 120 days (4 months)
in advance of the dates requested off.
Clinical Assignment Schedules are made up a month in advance, this requires that
Personal Time Off and Professional Time requests must be submitted before the
end of preceding month. (Example: Leave time requests for days off in March need to
be requested before the end of January.) Leave times must be coordinated and approved by the
designated Clinical Site Coordinator in advance. Leave that is not coordinated
and approved in advance may be denied. Entry of leave time into the ANP Time
Management System without Clinical Site Coordinator approval may be denied. Leave taken without approval or without
submission to ANP Online Time Management is considered Absent Without Leave.
