Foreign Physicians Nursing ProgramForeign Physicians Nursing Program

The Foreign-Educated Physicians Nursing Program and the New Americans in Nursing Program are one and the same. The difference in program names is due to the funding of the respective programs. The programs have the same curriculum plan and have been designed to educate physicians from other countries to be nurses in the United States through the 'MD to RN' track. All of the content in this website is pertinent to both the Foreign-Educated Physicians Nursing Program and the New Americans in Nursing Program.

The Foreign-Educated Physicians Nursing Program, which refers to Cohort II that graduated December of 2004, was funded by HCA Health Care East Florida Division, Mercy Hospital, Kendall Medical Center, and Cedars Medical Center.

The New Americans in Nursing Program, which refers to Cohort III A, B & C graduating December of 2005 and April of 2006 respectively, is funded by the U.S. Department of Labor through the New Americans in Nursing Grant.
