The objectives of the INTERNET PAPER ASSIGNMENT is to:

Your INTERNET PAPER ASSIGNMENT is the following:

STRESS MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES:  In your paper:

  • Describe or present a physiological/psychosocial overview of the stress management technique, incorporating the historical development of the technique.

  • Present the theoretical or conceptual foundations specific to the technique and research studies that support or do not support the technique. You must include research articles (pro and/or con) on your selected topic.  The research article references may not be more than 10 years old and must include at least one (1) research article from the last three (3) years.  Attach visual aids, if possible.

  • Include resources and instructions for utilizing the technique on self as well as assisting clients in 
    utilizing the technique.  Attach handouts, as appropriate.  Examples of topics:  

    • Progressive Relaxation 

    • Biofeedback

    • Guided Imagery

    • Yoga

    • Meditation

    • Prayer

    • Music Therapy

    • Humor

    • Hypnosis

    • Aromatherapy

    • Exercise: Specify type 

    • Other (approved by instructor)

TOUCH THERAPIES/ALTERNATIVE MEDICAL THERAPIES:  In your paper:

  • Describe or present a physiological/psychosocial overview of the touch therapy or alternative 
    medical therapy, incorporating the historical development of the therapy.

  • Present the theoretical or conceptual foundations specific to the therapy and research studies that 
    support or do not support the therapy. You must include research articles (pro and/or con) on your selected topic.  The research article references may not be more than 10 years old and must include at least one (1) research article from the last three (3) years.  Attach visual aids, if possible.

  • Include resources and instructions for utilizing the therapy on self as well as assisting clients in

SPIRITUALITY:  HEALTH/HEALTH CARE BELIEFS In your paper:

  • Provide an overview of the religion, focusing on those beliefs which impact on health and health 
    care
    , e.g., beliefs related to birth, death, abortion, birth control, diet and food practices, acceptance of 
    medical care, 
    etc.  

  • Describe specific practices that may impact nursing care of the family and client, (e.g., rites related 
    to baptism, dietary restrictions, blood transfusions) and other religious rituals (circumcism, oil anointing, amulets, etc.).  Attach visual aids, as appropriate.

  • Include resources and nursing interventions in interacting with clients who identify with the religion.  Examples of topics:

SEXUALITY:  In your paper:

  • Summarize the historical aspects and the physiological/psychosocial aspects of of the sexuality topic.  Incorporate past and current definitions as well as current trends and issues. 

  • Describe significant research studies that have added to our knowledge of the topic. You 
    must
    include research articles (pro and/or con) on your selected topic.  The research article 
    references may not be more than 10 years old and must include at least one (1) research article from the last three (3) years.  Attach visual aids, if possible.

  • Summarize the legal and ethical issues of the sexuality topic as they relate to providing nursing care to clients.  Include resources and nursing interventions that can be used in interacting with clients and families who are impacted by this sexuality topic.  Examples of topics:  

    • Sexual Assault: Discuss an age group

    • AIDS: Discuss a specific aspect, such as AIDS in the elderly

    • Homosexuality: Discuss a specific aspect, such as gay teenager issues 

    • Menopause, such as latest research findings and/or treatment

    • Contraception: Specify type or newest methods

    • PMS, such as latest research findings and/or treatment 

    • Other: (approved by instructor)
